HESA has just published it's latest statisctics for the 2010/11 academic year showing the income breakdown for all UK universities.
The statistics show that tuition fees and education contracts now the largest source of income for Universities - evidence of a move to a new commercial reality and a new dawn in the outlook of how the management teams within HEI's view their financial and competitive positions.
Collegiate believe that this new commercial reality will catalyse a greater focus within institutions towards value and investment. HEI's could benefit greatly from capital and investment partnerships with the private sector, on appropriate terms, to increase the quality of facilities and services that need not be owned by the HEI.
Student accommodation is an area where external capital is needed for refurbishment or provision and one in which we will see increasing levels of private capital.
